One of the dangers of winter weather is ice that collects on
sloped roofs. Every year we hear of catastrophic leaks that occur
due to snow melt, and damage caused by falling sheets of ice. Some
building owners have maintenance men shovel the snow off as it collects.
While this is effective, it can place a large burden on the building's
staff, and can be quite dangerous. Instead of having
men put themselves at risk by climbing up on a snow filled roof and
shoveling it off, take a pro-active step to prevent this condition.
Have Burns Industrial install ice guards and heat cables that prevent
both ice dams leaks, and sheets of ice falling off the roof - potentially
damaging people.
<
Melted snow behind these dams is pushed up the roof, and finds entry,
filling up this overhang with freezing water.
This winter you can reduce the risk of
leaks and the work load of your maintenance staff
by installing ice guards and heat cables.
